About Me
Raised in the small western German town of Viersen, I know a boring and carefree nineteen-eighties childhood has its own special inspirational power.
After finishing school and exploring my passion for photography, I quickly started taking pictures for newspapers. Before long I was lucky enough to begin my career as a photojournalist—a job that allowed me to be creative while honing my technical skills and immersing myself in the multifaceted world around me.
1995 was just the right time to move to Berlin. I got to observe and enjoy a revolutionary era in a world without walls. Even better, from 1997 to 2008 I was blessed to be working as staff photographer for the Berliner Zeitung -- one of the capitol’s leading newspapers. My work for the paper gave me a chance to catch a glimpse of history - from Love Parade to Wrapped Reichstag.
Now, a few moons, two beautiful children, wonderful wife and small annoying dog later, I still love taking pictures.
Today, I work for companies, magazines and institutions, fulfilling their needs for interesting, creative images of people and products.
A communications addict, I’m dedicated to developing good ideas. I never hesitate to do whatever it takes to get the right shot--from coordinating and working with my team of production managers, makeup-artists, stylists, retouch- and animation-artists to just taking simple and beautiful pictures. I am driven by one goal: To obliterate any hurdle that stands between you and the photography you deserve.
My motto is: Be curious. Love people. Look for surprise!
